Basket trend (Vietnam only)

1. At each month end, check the equal-weight basket's 12-month return.
2. Positive: hold all seven stocks, equal weight, from the next open.
3. Negative: sell everything at the next open and sit in cash.
4. Roughly one flip a year, so HOSE's ~1% round-trip cost stays a rounding error instead of the whole story.

Read this page as a measurement, not a recommendation. The rule beats a MONTHLY-REBALANCED equal-weight basket on both halves of its lab window — and still loses to the laziest alternative of all, buying the seven stocks once and never touching them (+508% net against +930%), because the biggest winners made much of their run during windows the basket signal sat out. Two rounds of testing have not found a Vietnamese rule that beats doing nothing; this page exists to show that honestly rather than to sell the nearest miss. Survivorship flatters every Vietnamese backtest on top: the fully-delisted 2017-era momentum favourites cannot be fetched at all.
